Marcus Aurelius was a Roman emperor, Stoic philosopher and writer. He was born in 121 AD in Rome and died in 180 AD in Sirmione. He was the last of the rulers known as the “Five Good Emperors” and the last emperor of the Pax Romana, a time of relative peace and stability for the Roman Empire.
